Step-by-Step instructions for how to make Pastel De Nata

Step 1

Preheat the oven at 250°C.

Step 2

Take custard powder in a bowl. Add milk and whisk well. Heat a nonstick pan. Transfer this mixture, add Sugar Free Natura and cook on medium heat for 6-8 minutes or till thick.

Step 3

Roll the puff pastry sheets tightly and pinch the loose ends. Cut into ½ inch pieces and press to form disks. Line tartlet moulds with these disks and press the edges well.

Step 4

Add the prepared custard in lined tarts and bake in preheated oven for 6-7 minutes.

Step 5

Demould and serve.

Cooking Tips

  • Whisk the custard powder and milk thoroughly before heating to avoid lumps.
  • Keep the puff pastry cold right up until you work with it — warm pastry loses its layers and won’t puff properly.
