JapaneseIn this episode of Sugar-Free Sundays, Chef Sanjeev Kapoor brings you a delicate and flavourful Japanese dessert – Matcha Tea Cake, made healthier and completely guilt-free.
Preheat the oven at 180℃.
Take yogurt in a large bowl. Add Sugar Free Diet Sugar and beat with an electric beater till it melts.
Add oil and vanilla extract and beat till well combined.
Sift the refined flour, baking powder and baking soda directly into the bowl and mix lightly. Add milk and beat till well combined. Sift matcha powder in the batter and mix with light hands.
Transfer the batter into a greased and lined loaf tin. Tap it a few times to remove any air bubbles, place it in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes.
Allow to cool, demould, slice, dust some match powder and serve.
Use culinary-grade matcha powder for baking – it blends smoothly into the batter and gives a consistent earthy flavour and vibrant green colour throughout the cake.

This soft, aromatic cake is infused with the earthy richness of matcha, offering a perfectly balanced flavour that’s both unique and indulgent. Sweetened with Sugar Free Natura, it lets you enjoy this classic Japanese treat without any added sugar, making it a lighter and smarter dessert choice.
Whether you’re a fan of matcha or trying it for the first time, this elegant dessert is sure to win you over with its subtle sweetness and comforting texture.
