Sift the gram flour thoroughly. Add water gradually to form a runny batter.
Mix in the edible food colour and let the batter rest for 20 minutes.
Heat the oil in a deep pan. Hold the ladle above the oil.
Pour the batter on top of the ladle and let the boondi fall into the oil directly.
Fry the boondis for 30-40 seconds until they turn light golden.
To make the sugar syrup, in a bowl of water mix Sugar Free Green and saffron strands and let it simmer for about a minute.
Turn off the flame and mix cardamom powder for a burst of flavour.
Add the fried boondi and ghee into the syrup.
Now, let the boondi soak the flavoured sugar syrup.
Allow the mixture to cool down. Shape the boondi laddus, by greasing your palm with ghee and gently roll them.
