AmericanAdding chocolate chips can give a nice rich chocolatey flavour to your dishes. But store bought chocolate chips have high amounts of calories. You can easily make these tiny chocolatey treats at home without any perry of added sugar and preservatives. This homemade sugar free chocolate chip recipe can be added in baking recipes, smoothies and just to snack on.
Prepare the Ingredients
Measure all the ingredients carefully and keep them aside. Collect everything beforehand to avoid last minute mishaps.
Melt the Cocoa Butter:
Make a double boiler and melt the cocoa butter on it until it completely melts. You can also melt the cocoa butter in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between.
Mix Cocoa Powder and Sweetener:
Mix in the cocoa powder in the melted cocoa butter. Add it slowly until the mixture turns smooth. Add the sugar-free sweetener and continue to whisk until it’s fully blended.
Add Vanilla Extract and Salt:
To get an enhanced flavour, add in the vanilla extract and a pinch of sea salt (if using).
Pour and Set:
Now take a silicone chocolate chip mold or a parchment-lined baking sheet and pour the mixture into it. If using a baking sheet, score the chocolate with a knife to create small chips.
Chill:
Place the molds or baking sheet in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes, or until the chocolate is fully set.
Break and Store:
Once set, break the chocolate into chips if using a baking sheet. Store the sugar-free chocolate chips in an airtight container in the refrigerator or a cool, dry place.
